A brief history of our home
The picture above is from an 1868 drawing of the house, barns, and the slow traffic on Grove Street. The house was built in 1835 by Benjamin Rice Greeno, the grandson of the Green Mountain boy Daniel Greeno. B. R. Greeno raised sheep and maintained an apple orchard. The house sits on what is now called orchard lot. The property is on the Vermont State Register of Historic Places.
